Southern Ontario winters are something wonderful. Fields go from brown of Autumn to white. Lakes and rivers turn to ice bringing fishermen out to dig their holes and catch Walleye. When air gets cold and misty you wake up to frosting on the trees.
Our small town seems to glow a bit warmer in winter, with porch lights catching the snow. The coffee shops do a booming business.
You can hear your footsteps crunching as the world gets quieter. The familiar critters appear eventually devouring the feed you put out for them.
The days are shorter and evenings come early, bringing out the simple beauty of a true Canadian winter wonderland.
